Yasaman Amannejad

Yasaman Amannejad is an Assistant Professor at Mount Royal University. She received her Ph.D. in Software Engineering from the University of Calgary, and her Masters in Computer Information Technology from the Amirkabir University of Technology.
Yasaman’s research interests are building innovative solutions for real-life challenges, applied machine learning and data analytics on large-scale cloud computing platforms as well as small resource-constraint devices such as cellphones and wearable devices. Her research is published in various conferences and journals and is recognized by several research grants, such as the Petro-Canada Young Innovator Award, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and New Frontiers in Research Fund.
Yasaman has over 5 years of industry experience and incorporates her knowledge from industry into her courses to create real examples and projects. She always tries to spark the motivation that the learners need to engage in the journey of learning and discovery. Her outstanding teaching performance has been recognized by several teaching awards that she has received.
Yasaman joined the Department of Mathematics and Computing at Mount Royal University in 2018 and enjoys the combination of teaching and research in her academic career.
